Meet Dr. Emily

Dr. Emily Dae Andersen is a recent graduate of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Massachusetts. Originally from Bethel, Connecticut where she attended Bethel Public Schools, Dr. Emily completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Emily’s family instilled in her at a young age an urge for constant education and search for knowledge. After personally benefiting from acupuncture and alternative medicine, she became passionate about studying these modalities as they applied to veterinary medicine. Dr. Emily completed acupuncture training at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and is currently continuing learning in integrative medicine studying herbal medicine.

Dr. Emily is also passionate about behavioral medicine and hopes to apply an integrative approach to the prevention and treatment of behavioral pathologies. Dr. Emily is an advocate of One Health, incorporating environmental sciences, veterinary medicine, human medicine, and other disciplines into conversation toward a holistic approach to world health. She has had the great fortune to apply these strategies to community and shelter medicine projects both stateside and abroad. With a proficiency in the Spanish language, Dr. Emily looks forward to continuing on projects in Latin America, specifically in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Emily has now returned to Bethel where she shares a beautiful property in the woods with her six cats, rescue sugar glider, chickens, and deaf German Shepherd puppy. She enjoys gardening and plants, cooking, crafts and art, and playing music. Dr. Emily is thrilled to have joined the kind and welcoming Valley Veterinary team and treat your four legged loved ones.
